SOCIAL HOUSING FOR IRANIAN MIGRANTS. Iran is home to one of the world's oldest continuous major civilizations, with historical and urban settlements dating back to 7000 BC.
It has endured several invasions by the Greeks, Arabs, Turks, Mongols and in recent years the Islamic revolution which saw a mass exodus of Iranians who were not in agreement with the rejection of western culture .
Regardless of these upheavals, Iranian refugees still maintain a strong sense of national and cultural identity where ever they find themselves. Alliance for Iranian Americans (AIA) which is made up of the first phase of Iranian migrants who came to the U.S for educational purposes but were unable to return after the Islamic revolution started in 1978, seeks to provide a stable accommodation for recent Iranian refugees in the United states .
